HATHA YOGA
Hatha Yoga is that branch of the
Yoga Philosophy which deals with the physical body-its care-its well-being- its health-its strength--and all that tends to
keep it in its natural and normal state of health. It teaches a natural mode of living and voices the cry which has taken
up by many of the Western world: "Let us get back to Nature," excepting that the Yogi does not have to get
back for he is already there, for he has always clung close to nature and her ways, and has not been dazzled and befooled
by the mad rush toward externals which has caused the modern civilized races to forget that such a thing as nature existed.
Fashions and social ambitions have not reached the Yogi's consciousness-he smiles at these things, and regards them as
he does the pretenses of childish games-he has not been lured from nature's arms, but continues to cuddle close up to
the bosom of his good mother who has always given him nourishment, warmth and protection. Hatha Yoga is first nature;second
nature; and last NATURE.

Practicing Yoga
If you're
new to yoga don't assume you'll have to be able to pull off crazy pretzel poses. Let me ease your mind a bit.
While yoga DOES sometimes include standing on your head, or bending, twisting, stretching beyond daily tasks, you don't
have to be flexible in order to practice yoga.
So if you consider
yourself inflexible, YOGA is especially for you! Just know that wherever you are, it's okay.
There are modifications for every pose, and when you do them, you'll notice an instant
improvement in how you feel. The great news is that Yoga excepts your body where you're at now and you grow from there-Unlike
other forms of fitness and exercise where you have to get in shape first and then participate.
Just know that all levels
are welcome here and the environment is safe, supportive, noncompetitive and nonjudgmental.

Meet the Teacher
Susan Pataky is grateful for all the teachers in her life
and is is humbled daily and grateful for the bounty of gifts that yoga has bestowed upon her. She has studied Yoga for almost
4 decades and has been teaching since her certification in 1979. She has had the honor of studying with many great masters
from many yogic traditions and has integrated this knowledge into her own style of teaching making her classes unique, informative
and accessible for any experience level. She studied and received Shakipat from Shri Anandi MA, a respected master of Kundalini
Maha Yoga Lineage. Susan brings the same energy, commitment
and enthusiasm to her teaching that she brought to her varied and diverse career background. Prior to teaching yoga she was
assistant manager of an upscale jewelry store in White Plains, NY and Greenwich, CT and then manager for the Westport, CT
store. Her art/design degree afforded her a successful window display business in the retail/corporate world for many years
on the east coast for various private & chain stores. Susan always maintained a ‘side' involvement in holistic
studies and various energy healing techniques which ultimately led to her returning to university where she earned a Doctorate
in Naturopathic medicine. Although Florida law presently prohibits practice by ND's she sees patients in other states where
the law allows. As an Ordained Minister, Susan offers various spiritual tools which facilitate growth and awareness to all
faiths and offers heartfelt gratitude to each and every beautiful soul who walks the path to enlightenment. Whether in yoga
class or in private setting she believes they are the most inspiring teachers of all.
Susan Pataky ensures the safe, gentle execution of stretches, poses(asanas) and breathing techniques for all. Extra care is taken
with sensitive regions in the body. Each
class is geared to the participants needs and goals rather than the ‘simon-sez’ approach making these classes
powerfully effective and fun.
